Important Notice Regarding Wayne County Extension Programs & COVID 19

At this time, the Wayne County Extension Service will be available to support the community remotely during normal office hours  (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday). Our facility is currently closed to the public.  Under the direction of the University of Kentucky and the CDC all Extension non-essential programs and meetings of 10 or more people are cancelled through May 10. At this time we plan to resume in-person Extension programs beginning Monday, May 11. We will continue to offer diagnostic services such as soil samples and weed & pest identification.  However, Extension meetings like Homemaker Clubs, 4-H Clubs, & Ag. workshops are cancelled. We are working to transition as many of our educational programs as possible to online learning opportunities through Facebook and our website. We will also be mailing lessons to our various clubs.  During these unprecedented times we are working to maintain social distancing for our employees while still meeting the needs of our clientele. Wayne County Extension Staff can be reached at 606-348-8453 or by emailing,, or
